Jay Renshaw
Jay is a Los Angeles-based actor, writer, and current cast-member of the celebrated Groundlings Main Company. When he’s not performing sketch, he’s been known to pop up on TV when you least expect him. Notable credits include Mad Men, Criminal Minds, Dead to Me, and Ryan Murphy’s Feud, opposite Jessica Lange.
Also no stranger to the big screen, Jay has had memorable roles in Jules Feiffer’s Bernard and Huey (playing the young version of Jim Rash), and the lead in Outfest 2019 selection The Curse.
As an Indiana native, Jay spent most of his childhood applying bug spray and wondering why no one else pretended to be Bea Arthur. At 18, he withdrew from art school to pursue an equally reliable career: acting. After a few years of unbridled success in Hollywood, he graciously allowed Daniel Day-Lewis to take his role in Lincoln and turned instead to comedy.
Jay has studied at Groundlings, iO West, Margie Haber Studio, and Howard Fine Studio.
In his free time, he is a Wall Street tycoon.
