Kat Purgal


Kat Purgal grew up in the 'burbs of Washington, D.C. At 17, she performed at both the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Folger Shakespeare Theatre. She graduated from Emerson College in Boston, with a Bachelor of Arts in Film. While there, she acted in plays including Sam Shepard's Mad Dog Blues and a gender-bent Hamlet, where she played Polonius.

Upon moving to Los Angeles, Kat quickly booked a recurring role on the hit NBC series, Heroes and music videos by Flight of the Conchords' and Plain White T's. She was honored to take part in the Sundance Director's Lab and the NBC Diversity Showcase. Kat has been seen on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, The Neighbors, Touch; and heard on Family Guy, American Dad, and Marvel TV's Blade: Anime. She is featured in the film Bleeding Heart starring Jessica Biel and Zosia Mamet and she plays a large supporting role in Her Story, a web series about trans dating lives.

Kat has been in countless commercials on the small screen. She also produces, writes, directs, and stars in a sketch web series entitled Tan In Winter. Kat studies improv and sketch at Upright Citizens Brigade. She performs monthly at Acme Hollywood East, with her sketch team Tiny Muscles. In her spare time, she trains at the Cirque School Los Angeles on Static Trapeze and Aerial Hoop.
